Budget bills showdown to begin on Hill, more drama

As MPs prepare to battle over Paul Martin's two budget bills, NDP's Judy Wasylycia-Leis says the House should order the House Finance Committee to speed bills along if Bloc and Tories use delaying tactics.

The stage is set for another Parliamentary battle now that the Conservative and Bloc Québécois-dominated House Finance Committee has Prime Minister Paul Martin's two budget bills, a battle that could spill out onto the floor of the House of Commons if either piece of legislation ends up stalled because of opposition delaying tactics.

Some MPs are already talking about moving a motion in the House of Commons...
